The "Wire we Here?" Blog and Forum
Try #2
Hi Bob,
please excuse the disjointed replies, I’m doing this on my phone and I’m not the best user of these type of forums. if you ever get to Australia, and in particular Adelaide please let me know - you would be very welcome to visit. Australia is a very big country so allow a few weeks to visit a few places. SA has wonderful vineyards too. I will think about the cabling. I’ve got 2 x 2.7m TPC speaker cables so pretty much enough to reconfigure for the Linkwitz cables. take care. Frank
@frank7036 Thanks for the comments and invite Frank! Let me know if we can help.
@bobbjc did you see the picture?
@frank7036 An absolutely beautiful system!! I see those red cables😊! Thanks for sharing!!

@frank7036 Frank, Thise boxes are a collectors item, we only had so many. I have one. - Galen
@frank7036 How did I miss them? They look great!😊
Hey guys,
It’s Rob from the previous forum. I live in the Midwest and have been a silly audiophile for just over 30 years. Hearing differences in cables is what turned me into an audiophile! It’s taken a long time to put together my main rig but I finally feel roughly 95% satisfied with it. 😉
I have BAV XLR between my Schiit Yggdrasil DAC to my PS Audio GCD which I use as preamp. BAV RCAs make up the rest of my interconnects from the Schiit Skoll phono preamp (to the GCD) and to my Schiit Tyr monoblock amps as well as a pair of Rythmik Audio servo subwoofer amps. From the Tyrs to my main speakers I use Series 2 Iconoclast cables. I also use 5T00UP between the sub amps and my subs.
I’ve been thinking about upgrading my long RCAs between preamp and amps to Series 2 XLR cables to maximize performance but as I am a man of modest means it’s a little bit of a stretch. As a relatively new homeowner, my house tends to take priority.
My current sources are a Raspberry Pi4, Mac Mini, and Rega P25. Speakers are the now unavailable GR Research Super 7. They are full range all open baffle towers with planar magnetic tweeters and midrange drivers. The bottom frequencies are handled by custom 12” subwoofers.
I tried posting a linked pic but that doesn’t seem to be working or I’m doing something wrong.
@rob-c Hi Rob, thank you for the post and your interest. I will check with Kurt to see why your pic may not have posted. It very well could be file size. In the interim, send me an email to bhoward@iconoclastcable.com with the length you would need for Gen II RCA's. I will see what we might have in our demo or show inventory. Have a great weekend.
@rob-c I had to reduce my picture size from 1.9MB to something smaller, in the end I used an app (Image Size - free version) and took it down to under 1MB and it loaded.
Hi Rob,
The attach file size is 2 MB, so not too big.
The trick with the IC cables, is that the ETPC sound GREAT and moving to $$$ cooper is a SLIGHT advance but far less than you'd expect, it isn't a price "value" at that point like most extreme things but the extreme copper's value is the advance at any cost. Try the series II ETPC XLR for the most cost effective solution. ICONOCLAST was really interested in keeping the tech affordable and reigning in the most performance at the lowest cost. We think we've done it pretty well.
