Both the series I and II XLR are designed to flatten the Vp curve with the use of smaller AWG wires as well as control L and C to remarably low numbers. The series I uses four 0.021" 24 AWG and the series II uses a more complex sixteen 0.010" 30 AWG.

Since the dielectric is a fully optimized FEP dielectric, and four air tubes, a reasonable bend radius is required behind the equipment. The five foot recommended length offers ample cable strain relief in most all applications.
