Our website accepts most major credit cards, as well as PayPal. Please note that charges will appear on your statement as "Blue Jeans Cable."
Our checkout process is configured so that your credit card or other account information never is even registered on our web server; Consequently, your payment data is entirely safe from any attack on our server. If, however, you prefer to make payment via a credit card offline, we can handle credit card transactions by telephone as well.
We ship most orders within two to three days of order placement. Our free standard domestic US shipping method is FedEx Express Saver, but Second Day Air or Overnight may be available at checkout.
We ship orders to the UK and Canada via FedEx International Priority service. If you are in another country and have a FedEx account to which taxes can be billed, we can use this same service to ship to you, with taxes to be paid to FedEx upon receipt; otherwise, we generally ship via the US Postal Service, which in most cases will pass the parcel to your country's postal service, but in some cases may connect to a private courier.
Cables may be returned for any reason within 30 days of purchase, unless otherwise specified. The buyer bears the cost of return shipment, which should be directed to our address below. Within the USA, Canada and the UK, we are also able to refund the taxes charged at checkout; outside of those countries, any import duty, sales tax or VAT may be collected by the courier at the time of receipt of the package, and we neither receive nor can refund those taxes, but it is possible that some local process exists in your country for recovering them.
A 2018 decision by the US Supreme Court set aside the traditional rule that a vendor need not collect sales taxes in states where the vendor has no physical presence, in favor of a system which, in practical implementation, varies widely from state to state. We collect sales taxes in about twenty states (the list, alas, varies from year to year), and tax calculation will occur automatically at checkout; you will see the tax to be charged before you finalize your purchase. In most cases this will be your local sales tax rate, but in a few states, including California and Pennsylvania, the rate charged may be lower than your normal local rate, depending upon your specific location.
We are VAT-registered in the UK and GST/HST registered in Canada, so we collect those taxes at the time of purchase and remit them to the relevant agency (and, in the event of a return, can refund them). Outside of those countries, we are not VAT- or sales tax-registered and so ordinarily will ship by methods which require the parcel recipient to pay any applicable taxes at the time of receipt.
We are often asked to mark goods as a gift or understate the value, in order to reduce taxes. Please don't ask us to do this; we cannot. It is not uncommon for valuations on our packages to be reviewed by customs officials, and when they even suspect that we have underreported value on a shipment, it causes considerable work on our part to supply documentation. We face fines and limitations on our access to foreign markets if customs officials conclude that we've done that. We have even been fined for fraudulent documentation when our documentation was demonstrably 100% accurate, which is incredibly frustrating. Since experience teaches that we can get "caught" even when innocent, we cannot take the risk of knowingly misstating the value, nature or purpose of a shipment.
